Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Taskido ("we", "us") handles your information when you use the Taskido app and website. In short: Taskido works on your device by default. Signing in is optional, and only Premium subscribers who switch on cloud backup have anything stored off their phone. We use no ads, analytics or tracking.
What we store, and where
Your tasks, transactions, settings and receipt images are stored on your device. Taskido works fully without an account, and by default nothing leaves the phone.
Accounts
You can optionally create an account, with an email address and password or by signing in with Google. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase. When you have an account we hold your email address, your name if the sign-in provider supplies one, and an account identifier — nothing else. Your App Lock PIN is never uploaded; it is removed before anything is sent.
Signing in on its own stores none of your tasks or finances. You can delete your account at any time from inside the app.
Cloud backup (Premium)
Premium subscribers can switch on cloud backup. While it is on, a copy of your tasks, notes, countdowns, habits and transactions is stored in Google Firebase under your account so it survives a lost or replaced phone. Rules on that store allow only your own account to read or write it.
Free users, signed-out users, and subscribers who leave backup off upload nothing at all. Turning backup off stops any further upload immediately, and deleting your account removes the stored copy.
Camera and photos
If you scan a receipt, the photo is saved on your device and the amount is read on your device — the text recognition runs locally inside the app. Receipt images are never uploaded to us or any third party, and they are not included in cloud backup even when it is switched on. Restoring a backup on a new phone brings back the transaction, but not the photo attached to it.
Microphone and voice
If you add a task or expense by voice, your speech is converted to text so the app can create the item. On the mobile apps this uses your device's built-in speech recognition; on the web it uses your browser's speech recognition. Taskido does not record, store or transmit your audio. Your device's or browser's own speech-recognition service may process the audio to convert it to text, under that provider's privacy terms.
Payments and subscriptions
If you subscribe to Taskido Premium, the purchase is processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store under their terms. We do not receive or store your payment card details. The store tells the app whether your subscription is active so that Premium features can be unlocked.
No ads, analytics or tracking
Taskido contains no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no tracking or profiling SDKs. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell or share your data.
Saved links
When you save a link inside a note, the app fetches that link's title so it can be shown with a readable name — from YouTube for YouTube links, and for other sites through Taskido's own link-title service (hosted on our infrastructure, not a third party). Only the link you saved is sent, and only for that purpose — nothing else about you is shared.
Security
Data on your device is protected by your device. We recommend using your device lock and, optionally, the app's built-in App Lock — bear in mind App Lock is a privacy screen rather than encryption, so anyone with access to the device's files could still read the data. Anything sent to cloud backup travels over an encrypted connection and is readable only by your own account. Any backup file you create with Import & export is under your control.
Your choices and rights
You can export or delete all of your data at any time from the app's Import & export screen. Uninstalling the app removes its local data from your device. If you have an account, you can delete it and its cloud backup from Settings, or email taskidoapp@gmail.com if you no longer have the app installed.
Children
Taskido is a general-audience productivity app. It is not directed to children under the age required by your local law, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
